Ingredients
- Base: 1 cup rolled oats, 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce, 1/4 cup natural peanut butter (xylitol-free), 1 large egg
- Optional Add-ins: 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for fresh breath), 2 tablespoons finely grated carrot
Instructions
- Step 1:
- Preheat your oven to 350° F (175° C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Step 2:
- In a food processor, pulse the oats until they resemble coarse flour.
- Step 3:
- In a mixing bowl, combine oat flour, applesauce, peanut butter, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.
- Step 4:
- Stir in parsley and grated carrot if using.
- Step 5:
- Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch (0.5 cm) thickness on a lightly floured surface.
- Step 6:
- Use a paw-shaped cookie cutter to cut out treats. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Step 7:
- Bake for 18–20 minutes, until firm and golden on the edges.
- Step 8:
- Allow treats to cool completely before serving to your dog.
